What - Fast Food chain focusing on burritos, using the old pneumatic tubes as a means of fast food delivery

Audience - all, closer to young adults so prices as cheap as you can have them

Image - bright and exciting with colors and music

Competition - Other Fast food stores, get customers to focus by keeping to a more 'hometown' feel, treat every customer like a person



All Purpose Flowers


Flower arrangements - Delivery, but mainly buy in store

Audience - Pretty open, anyone who needs flowers to give

Image - Fun, casual company, beauty doesn't have to be formal

Competition - Other flower companies, keeping to the hometown feel as above.

Project 3 - Logo Redesign

As the world moves on, so do peoples taste in the visuals and designs. Older designs become boring, even older become 'vintage', however the fact remains that we often need change to revitalize the life in the product and the recent trend is to head toward a minimalist style. Sooner or later, there will be a point where we can't simplify it any further, and perhaps shift back to a more detailed design, but until then the logos will shift to more simple designs. 

I don't even know what I'm writing with this: Pretty much, we're simplifying so much that eventually, we won't be able to go forward. 

Logo - project 3 - Mountain Dew

The logo I chose was the newest edition in the Mountain Dew logo. I find the new trend of extreme angles could use a different pace, and the abbreviated Mtn is a bit corny. In my redesign, I'll be looking to take the logo away from the exaggerated angles and corners. I also hope to revitalize some of the older logos in a new era.

I feel like I could've done a whole lot more with this, not completely happy with the end result.

Movie Poster - Movie Plot

Set in the rubble that used to be a small American suburb, [insert protagonist's name here] wakes up to a world and a body she didn't have before. With her skin burnt and disfigured (a common symptom of those lucky enough not to die, but unlucky enough to not have shelter when the bomb dropped), she wanders out into this new world, leading her from the broken husks of what once were great homes to a feudal-esque gang war within the city. Along the way, she learns on what the people of this world have become -- in particular a group of lying scavengers, a leader and his cultist followers, and finally a troupe of people in her own situation as a scarred 'once humans'.

Bring a product or image of a product that you like the design of so we can discuss in class.

Write a paragraph on your blog explaining why you chose this object.



One product that I enjoy the design of is Geoffrey Graven's Tandem furniture. I've always enjoyed works that could be used for multiple purposes, and this swivel desk is no exception. From the storage below, to the 360 degree table face, while doubling to be a stool or a side table when not in use, this object screams productivity. However, the design of the object is where it truly shines. Simple, but refined with the untreated wood, it makes an elegant design that can fit into almost any household.

What is your computer experience?
I have a basic knowledge at least, as I grew up with them. I also took Computer Literacy last semester.

What is your experience with Photoshop and Illustrator?
Goof around with Photoshop for fun every once in a while, and had a Photo class in High School. I have more experience with Photoshop than Illustrator.

Do you have a computer at home? If so does it have Photoshop and Illustrator?I have a laptop at home with Photoshop. 

What is your major ?
Liberal Arts

What do you hope to get out of this class?

Honestly? 3 credits and some more knowledge in the two programs.

Who is your favorite artist?
I've enjoy a variety of artists, and have a hard time picking just one. The Wyeth family is always nice.

Who is your favorite musician? 
Also another hard decision to tack down just one. From Jonathan Coulton to Billy Joel to Josh Groban to Michael Buble. 

Tell me something interesting about yourself?
Hrm, Well, I'm, able to sing with a chipmunk voice without any editing.

Write a five line story?
It had taken her three weeks. Three weeks of meticulous planning, of careful consideration and movement. Three whole, annoying weeks, and it’s finally here. The house is finally quiet, a rather difficult task given her three rowdy roommates, and she's completed every ounce of work that could distract her. She flops on to the couch and heaves a large sigh, the remote in one hand and a large bag of popcorn in the other. She presses play on the remote, leans back and grins as the familiar logo fades on to the screen. 12 Hour movie marathon, here she comes.

The door slams open as her roommates stumble back into the apartment, Rained Out, they claim, Plans Cancelled. She can't help but let out another sigh. Another day, perhaps.
